Orica-GreenEDGE has announced 2015 Danish time trial champion Christopher Juul-Jensen will be joining the team in 2016/17.
Currently with Tinkoff-Saxo, Juul-Jensen has been making a name for himself not only in TT, but as a key supporter for big names including Peter Sagan and Alberto Contador.
Orica-GreenEDGE identified Juul-Jensen’s riding versatility as a key motivator to signing him. They will look to the Dane to provide support particularly during the Flemish Classics.
Sport Director Matt White won’t go so far as to single out what Grand Tours Juul-Jensen might ride.
“We will wait and see the routes… We are evolving into a team that rides for GC and he [Juul-Jensen] has that experience of being part of a winning team,” said White, who also believes the Dane is far from producing his best results yet.
“We want to develop and give him opportunities for himself, too. That’s the key to our team – we give young riders opportunities,” said White.
