Back in the day Lizzie ‘Dizzy’ Williams was a bit of a BMX Bandit, her first bike being a BMX Mongoose.
Lizzie had plenty of success on the bike as a junior, but decided to take life in another direction and gave up the bike for the books, becoming a secondary school teacher.
New to cycling? Check out She Rides
The niggle to race obviously never left her, and she returned to the bike, taking no time at all to get noticed. A two-month offer to race in the US and Canada followed by a scholarship in Europe has led Lizzie to this point – a coveted place with Orica-AIS.
When she’s not racing in the Northern hemisphere, Lizzie loves to head back to Victoria’s Kinglake area, which is her favorite place to take the bike. We find out who she’d ideally like to take with her on rides, what her goals are for the year ahead, and what she thinks is the greatest film ever made (she’s not too far off the money with this one!).
