ICYMI - Pop-up Store Interview with Daryl and Durbo

January 25, 2016

Orica-GreenEDGE riders Daryl Impey and Luke Durbridge dropped into the BikeExchange pop-up store at the Tour Down Under Village for a chat following a tough Stage 3 of the Santos Tour Down Under.

The Orica-GreenEDGE boys had another successful race, winning their second stage victory of the Tour Down Under, and making it three out of four wins this week in Adelaide. Daryl describes the 'sketchy and fast' approach to the infamous Corkscrew climb where the riders were hitting over 62mph along Gorge Rd. Despite the difficulty of the Corkscrew, Daryl thinks the overall result will be decided on the BikeExchange Stage, Willunga Hill.

Peter Sagan's hairy legs are again a topic of discussion, although Daryl and Durbo make it pretty clear they don't think that trend is going to catch on. Durbo describes what it is like to ride at a home event and the tremendous support he has had over the week, while Daryl is happy to have some downtime away from the kids between races.

Daryl and Durbo give us an insight to the last 3.7 miles of the race, explaining BMC's plans for the stage and how Gerro planned to hit the climb. The guys go into great detail on the climb, descent and final sprint, any would-be-bike-racer will be repeating this analysis over and over again to get some handy tips.

Sit back and enjoy our pop-up store interview of the Tour Down Under with the Orica-GreenEDGE team.
